Q: How would you describe your artistic style in 5 words?

A: Femme, Lavish, Iconic, Concealing, Chrome

Q: Which topics do your performances and art pieces revolve around?

A: My work is mainly concerned with themes of identity and the balance between femininity and masculinity. These themes are expressed creatively usually on my own body through make up, garments and performance. Another theme of my practice is where those two expressions of one’s identity exist in the space of fantasy.

Q: Where do you draw your inspirations from?

A: Inspiration comes from things that are expensive, artificial and things that are extra. For example, I would never use brown unless its my hair. Brown is not for me. Its things that don’t take themselves seriously but will make sure what you see is real!

Q: Are there any other upcoming artists you're loving right now?

A: One that I know very well and I adore her practice is Katie Bishop (@xcxssie_). Her practice is so extra and Is overwhelmingly kitsch trash.

Q: Who would you love to collaborate with in the future?

A: I would love to collaborate with Nick Knight in the future. I would love to be around such a creative person that is the father of fashion videography.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 2 years?

A: In two years’ time, I see myself somewhere in a bigger city than Nottingham trying to collaborate and showcase my work with a lot of creatives in a lot of industries.

Q: What do you class as success in the art world and life in general?

A: Success for me is to be able to live a comfortable life through just doing art and travel around the world through being creative.

Q: How would you encourage those who aren't necessarily comfortable coming out of their comfort zone to do so?

A: I would say that, if there is something that stimulates you creatively or not, but you are too afraid, take baby steps. For example, in my exploration with drag, I started experimenting step by step in my small bedroom. It took a lot of courage to be outside in public.

Q: As a young creative, what motivates you to keep going?

A: I try and keep myself going out in the city experiencing and talking to new people. I think that nowadays I am not creative at all if I am inside all the time.

Q: What advice would you give people trying to make it in the creative world?

A: Don’t be afraid to be crazy and out of the box. Some of your ideas might not make sense to other people but do them anyway. Also make sure you surround yourself with other creative people. It is important you open yourself to other people in order to find your creative tribe.
